CB FIT R2

Welcome to CB FIT Release #2

Move better, move consciously and move like an athlete.
This is the theme of Release #2. Basic athletic movements enter right from the warm up in a progressive easy to understand format. Ball catching drills feature also as we encourage everyone to either pair up or join as an entire class. Hand eye coordination drills play an important part in
preserving our brain’s grey matter. The coordination blocks feature some very different individual throwing movements which start from familiar to very advanced and because they are only bean bags the worst thing that can happen whilst attempting them is that they drop them... The best thing that happen is that they progress!

With the balance portion, easy does it is advised with a flurry of new content in the form of locomotion patterns. These are the kind of patterns high impact athletes (rugby, netball, football, hockey) use to train their reaction speed, agility and body awareness. For the purpose of this class, they have been slowed down and scaled down but nonetheless still have a huge benefit with our balance. Here we move into a high energy agility focused cardio track putting some of these athletic patterns to the test with music.

Once you’ve caught your breath and had a drink of water, we move into organic patterns with a partner. Preventing falls is always our key message and our lower body strength section aims to provide residents with key moves to strengthen their lower body.

To top it all off there is a very simple cool down track featuring some flow patterns, deep breathing and a small moment of mindfulness where you can thank your body and yourself for turning up and giving everything a try. This is also a special time to step into a space where you feel you have done good work to create a resilient body which feels protected by strong joints and muscles.

As always, this release is loaded with progressions and regressions. Remember to teach them to the level of your own class. If the majority needs easier options, that is where you teach it at. If you see someone needing a little more challenge, approach them individually before or after the class to show them some of the programs.

Move better, have fun and best of luck,

Dan
